If you are a contract employee and you quit, is it possible to get Employment Insurance?

I was working as a contract employee and close to the end of my contract my company was having a hiring freeze and a big department was shutting down. Many people who worked with the company for many years we re being laid off. I tried applying for other positions but my interview times didnt correspond with my schedule and so therefore i quit thinking I was going to get a job fast. Now its been 2 months and im out of a job and Im not sure if Id even be eligible to apply for employment insurance. Will they give me a chance even though i quit?what can i do to help my application process???? HELP

Nothing. Quit means you don’t qualify in the US.

Nope. Unemployment insurance is only for those that were fired or laid off. Even if you are fired the company can dispute payments.
